Greetings Meadow Glade SDA Church family and friends! (6.26.25 Edition)
Pastor Michael Brackett has written the following "Special Spotlight" for this week: "For the past couple of years I've been blessed to work alongside David Russell on the board of Battle Ground HealthCare. What a privilege to sit with this wonderful professional and learn. David has been in upper management for decades in the healthcare industry until retiring this past year. He pours hours of time and attention into Battle Ground HealthCare as a volunteer. His leadership is invaluable. In my humble estimation his passion for ministering to people and his support of our mission as a church make him the ideal person to be chair of the board of Battle Ground HealthCare. We are so proud of this ministry that was born through the vision and hard work of so many members of our beloved church family. It does this pastor's heart good to see the hard work and vision continuing to be such an instrumental part of the ongoing work there."

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH OPPORTUNITIES FOR MINISTRY
* Opportunities in Giving: We are behind in our year to date church budget giving (Year-to-Date Needed for Budget = $270,000. Year-to-Date Received for Budget = $214,268.54). It's a good thing to remember that the tithe monies we give support the ministries of our local Conference, regional Union, North American Division and General Conference worldwide. A very small portion of those funds come back to help support our local church but the vast majority of funds used to support our local church comes from offerings. Offerings are monies donated outside of tithe. Please remember church budget offerings each month to support our local work for the kingdom here in Battle Ground.
* We need a few more hosts for the "Picnic in the Park" events on various Sabbaths this summer. If you are interested in helping, please let Pastor Evan know.
* Our Family Promise Host Week is July 13-20 at Center Point. Evening host shift (5:30 to 8:30 m) and overnight host shift (8:30 pm to 7:00 am) are needed. Contact Angel McCoy for more information at 360-713-2489 (cell) or jamesangel41@msn.com (email). Also, since we have 7 churches that do the rotational shelter right now, there are some weeks where Family Promise of Clark County will host for the week at Center Point. If you are available June 29th to July 6, please call or email Angel McCoy at the above phone number and/or email.
* The Watters family is looking for help with yard workers (tree trimming, brush clearing, deck staining, and weed whacking) June 26 through July 3. Any days you're available. Does not have to be every day. Full days or part days. $25.00/HR. Kevin Watters 360 904-8150.
* June 17, 2024, we held a Business Meeting and unanimously voted as a church family to proceed with the fundraising necessary to renovate our Center Point building. A project of up to $2 million was approved with the stipulation we have 90% board donor support and $1.5 million in-hand (including pledges) before work commences. What work will be done with this renovation project? The banquet hall will be refreshed with new countertops and carpeting (and more); the hallways will be uniformly carpeted throughout the majority of the building; a new, large Youth Room created by an expansion and retooling of the existing kitchenette and office (across from Quest Sabbath School); our industrial kitchen will be retooled and fully functional again; the hallway closest to the church will be renovated to match the nicer side of the building including new doorways, ceiling and sheetrock throughout; 4 new adult Sabbath School classrooms created in the vacant storage rooms located on that hall; and new, much higher capacity restrooms created on that hallway for men and women. We have $188,697.45 in pledges and collected funds so far. If you would like to give toward this project, please give to our church "Center Point Building Fund." We are so grateful for everyone who has been involved in the work over the past few years that has led us to this exciting point! May God bless us and continue to move in our hearts collectively to move expediently on this project as we have done so many times in our history.
* Ministry positions to prayerfully consider: Praise Team Leaders, Assistant Kitchen Manager, Worship Program Coordinators, Deacons (male and female), Greeters, Pathfinder helpers and Sabbath School teachers/assistants. Please contact the church office, Cara Farrell or one of the pastors for more information.
* We still have a goal of raising approximately $10,000 for new church video cameras. Please consider giving to help improve our Audio/Video (AV) ministry. (One day we hope to take this out of the newsletter!)
* Church Flowers - If you would like to sponsor flowers at the pulpit please click here for the link to go to our new sign up genius page. You can still sign up by calling the church office.
WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH OUR CHURCH FAMILY
* Blake Palmer, son of Doug and Marce', and a senior at CAA, will soon receive treatment for Classic Hodgkins Lymphoma and would love for us to cover him in prayer!
* Prayers for Carol Christensen for ongoing health concerns.
* Prayers for a speedy recovery for Leanore Back who had knee surgery.
* Prayers for traveling mercies and safety for all those who are traveling this summer.
* Did you know there are special activity bulletins for kids 3+ and 7+? You can find them at the welcome desk in the lobby and on the table downstairs in the children's Sabbath School hallway. Remember to pick one up each Sabbath!
* Parents, we are so grateful for a church full of amazing children! Let's all stay mindful of where our children go after church and potluck. Things in the church such as our elevator can be really fun, but very costly to repair, so please help us educate how to take good care of our church facility.
